Problem

Settings controls identity, access, and integrations—high-risk areas where clarity and trust matter. The dashboard needed a unified settings hub that keeps editing explicit, supports team workflows, and enables self-serve integrations without support.

Users

Stay22 affiliate partners and team admins managing account details, organization settings, collaborators, and API integrations.

Approach

  • Designed tabbed IA to keep settings scannable across categories while maintaining a consistent layout.
  • Standardized a view→edit→save/cancel pattern so mode changes are explicit and mistakes are reduced.
  • Used confirmation modals for destructive actions (remove user, revoke key) and focused modals for sensitive reveal-once content (API key).
  • Maintained light/dark parity and consistent spacing as part of the dashboard redesign migration.

Header Pattern

A consistent settings header that swaps between read-only and edit mode (Edit ↔ Save/Cancel) to make state changes obvious.
